LA County Good With Money
Category: Been down so long looks like up to me

It has recently emerged that the LA County spent $13,000 in lawyers' fees to collect $1,000 from a woman who had to pay for her granddaughter's detention. Hmmm. Yeah, that seems like good math and right in keeping with America's financial track record.

In 2008, LA County spent $900,000 (this does not include lawyers' fees) to collect roughly $2.6 million of the $23.6 million it is owed in juvenile detention debt. Would this be the right time to point out that Bernie Madoff still has $62 million in his accounts?

Pay off the juvenile detention debt already, Madoff.
